    Worth visiting!

My friends and I went to Bintan, Indonesia yesterday aug 11, 07 for a day trip. We went to Bintan Lagoon Resort and Nirwana Gardens. We had fun at their Pool Bar. I ordered Creamissimo and it was super nice! I missed Bailey’s and good thing they have Creamissimo! I love their customer service. Indonesians are nice people. We’ll definitely go back! =)

    Worth visiting!

Just came back from a 3D2N trip to the Mayang Sari Beach Resort. Boy was it relaxing. Life is: lying in a hammock, looking at the blue sky and listening to the waves. If you do decide to come here, make sure you get a sea-facing chalet. Nirwana Gardens is more resort-like and has more amenities, but has lots more screaming kids too. Water sports can be done over at the Mana Mana Beach Club, but is expensive in my opinion.

Heard that Bintan Lagoon has a lot of activities and Club Med is where all the hotties hang out. Thought some of you might be interested in that fact :)

Bottom line: Don’t come here expecting some kind of excitement. It really is more of a place to chill out and just do nothing except eat, drink and sleep. Its a good getaway for harried Singaporeans who don’t have more time to travel somewhere else. Also makes a good side trip for visitors to Singapore who’ve had enough of the concrete jungle. After all, the only proper beach Singapore has is made out of imported sand :p

PS. The service is really good and staff are friendly. It makes a difference!
PPS. Book your package through Bintan Resort Ferries instead of external travel agents because BRF owns both the ferries and the resorts so you save on the middleman fees.
PPPS. Insect repellent is a must! Especially on the legs otherwise you’ll find that bites appear a couple of days later. Nasty bites that are small but red and raised.

I spent a romantic 3D/2N holiday here in Banyan Tree Bintan, and it was fantastic. Service was the best I’ve ever seen in any resort EVER, and the food, views, lodging were all perfect. I’d definitely recommend this place for a quick, quiet, romantic getaway for anyone in SEA.

A review of this place: Relax and Unwind  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

This is the place to go if you just wanna laze about and simply do nothing. I stayed at Bintan Lagoon the second time I was there and it has many activities to keep you occupied if lazing by the pool just isn’t your thing. There is also a small village place that sells yummy local food at dirt cheap prices and local snacks and delicacies as well as little shops which sells sarongs and surf wear. The beaches are nice depending of which hotel you are at…i prefer the beach at Nirwana Resort. It was nice to laze about in the pool and have a meal by the poolside bar which ur feet dangling in the water….how relaxing

Very exotic, so peaceful!  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

If you go to the eastern part, Trikora Beach, it’s like a remote island, very quiet, just water, sand, palm trees… but bring some friends! or a hot girl…:P I was with 8 girls from California over the weekend. It sounds better than it was:)

Alltime favourite golf course!  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

The Ria Bintan course (a Gary Player resort) is not to be missed if you are a golfer. Spectacularly beautiful and challenging – truly a once in a lifetime course. Consistently rated one of the top courses in Asia. If I had only one round left to me, I’d play it here. The ferry ride from Singapore takes 45 minutes, but beware the northeast monsoon season (late Dec. thru March) when very choppy seas can double the transit time and send everyone to the rails.

its... okay, i guess  — 2 years ago

    Not worth it!

if you’re in singapore and hankering for a beach that isn’t as manufactured/crowded as sentosa, or want a quick weekend getaway from the city, then this is a good alternative. but if you can afford to go elsewhere (a little more time and a wee bit more cash should do it), then by all means, do.

and if you’re dead set on going, try the saturday night buffet and the pizzas at mana-mana beach resort. good food and friendly service in a laid-back setting.

    Not worth it!

I stayed at Loola resort. It was for our class trip. I found it pretty boring and not really worth the money.. Could have found some place in malaysia (no need to get a visa!! mine cost S$70!! really expensive~)
