A tip I have about this place

Make sure you really want to go there, becuase if the roads to Kashmir wash away and your plane is delayed you are stuck there. Try the green tea, but beware of the lentils! An absolute culture shock, but very beautiful and peaceful.

The houseboats are great to stay in. Inside, it’s warm and cosy. The people are very friendly and hospitable too. You get a wonderfully serene view of the lake, with the occasional trader in a boat calling out bargains.
