Worth visiting!

Dinner out with colleagues

My co-worker/friend Mike raves about this place’s sister restaurant in Quechee VT so it seemed natural for a few of us to check it out after a workshop today.

The drive down 202 was full of traffic but less fraught with frustration than I would have expected. That might be because Mike drove and I was texting for most of the ride.

The building is lovely – right on the banks of the Brandywine – and the restaurant is across from a massive gift shop. When we arrived (6-ish) the place was empty but it filled up before we left. I started with the arugula, roasted grapes, toasted walnuts and Vermont cheddar salad with an ice wine vinaigrette. It was just ok.

My entree was swordfish with melted leeks and fennel and olive oil poached potatoes floating on a green olive lemon sauce. It was tasty and the portion size generous.

No one wanted dessert and 1 guy had to run off to a pre-planned volleyball game.
