Jones Beach State Park

At the time I lived in Massapequa Park and worked in wantagh, after work last summer we went to the beach almost every night, or just drove down to hang out.

way too many happy-childhood-type memories of this place to list!!!

The water is cold, the sand is hot. Eh, I think I’ll stay home.

It’s within driving distance of NYC. I recommend going during the week, or the trip turns into 1 hour at the beach and 4 hours of sitting in traffic. There’s a less crowded beach down the road that’s private and more expensive to get into but worth it to avoid the noise, etc. I will look into it and find out what it is.
