Cold Lake

When I was younger my dad loved to take my brother and I camping out at Cold Lake. In the summertime, the place is gorgeous—the town itself is right next to the lake, complete with a genuine marina and lots of quaint little shore-front shops. The water is freakin’ freezing though, even on a gorgeous 30 degree Celcius day. Fishing is good and the Air Show is something worth seeing in itself. Check it out if you get the chance!

I have lived in cold lake for 8 years, and let me tell you there’s not much to do. Our winters get cold, and the summer isn’t that great either. But the country scenery is gorgeous. It all depends on what you’re looking for. But for teens, weekends are so borings, we have i theater and i wimpy little mall. So that’s why the majority of teens are pot heads by the time they’re 12. nothing better to do i guess. Don’t get me wrong though, i don’t do that crap, but lots of people do. Cold Lake is my home town and i like it, but i definitely am getting out of here as soon as i graduate.

Had a great time on a US Air Force TDY (temporary duty) doing air-to-ground missile testing. The hospitality of our hosts was superb.

I’ll never forget seeing the Northern Lights.
