The first and till now only time I went to this place was awesome! My sister was visiting from Germany and my host mom’s German aunt took us there. She didn’t went all the way up with us so we had to hurry. It is really steep but worth it. I love the bridge there; it’s so pretty!!!
We took some really neat pictures there and ran down all the way so Ingrid (the aunt) wouldn’t have to wait. My advise: go there!

Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 3 months ago

Just off the freeway, you walk into this area and forget about the world outside. I used to hike up to the top and walk back behind the bottom of the falls (getting wet from the spray). I don’t know if you can do all that now, but it was always a nice drive from Portland and a good place to just get away from things – avoiding tourist times, of course.

Beautiful place. I was working for Intel and traveled to Oregon. On some freetime, my manager, a colleague and I went hiking in this area. I’d go again. My kids would love it here.

but I’d never be able to do it justice. The falls are breathtaking. Do yourself a favor, take a lot of water, do aerobics the day before, and hike the mile to the top. It’s a long, LONG, mile, but you’ll thank yourself for it when you reach the top.

If you’re looking for inner peace, it’s hard not to find it looking out over the falls, across the Columbia… sigh

I can’t wait to go back.

Don’t go here if you’re feeling suicidal – it’s 500+ feet of temptation.

This is just a cool little waterfall with a short trail off the side of the road on the way back to Portland. Really neat little place but gets kinda crowded (at least when I was there).

This fall is great of course, but if you have time I suggest visiting the less commercialized falls like Wahkeena Falls and Horsetail Falls. If you really have time, hike up into the Gorge a bit because the most spectacular falls are hidden.

After meeting all day, I and a group of business associates went up the Historic Columbia River Highway to Multnomah Falls. We stopped at a few waterfalls on the way up. Each was spectacular in their own right. There is a great restaurant here at Multnomah. Truly a worthwhile drive.

My most recent of trips. I loved every second of it. Fire place, ocean view, awesome sunsets. I loved the home town feel of this place. Although it did get quite “tourist” related during the weekend, during the week it was awesome. I had GREAT company, and I’d go there again.
