For two summers I lived right down the road from the gorge. It is very beautiful. I do have to say it took me about an hour to get up the courage to walk the bridge. i am deathly scared of heights but in the end it was really worth it. I plan on taking a family vacation back there when my son is a little older.

Why I recommend this place to visitors
You have to face the fear and go over the bridge. It’s awesome!

News about this place
This place is actually not in Colorado Springs, but Canon City. It is a great place to visit either way though. If you go you’ve got to walk across the bridge and back…it’s awesome!

Great views for those are arent afraid of heights!!!
I’ve been here 2-3 times, the views are great!!! Abundant wildlife… However, the Royal Gorge is not for the faint of heart! I’m not “afraid of heights”, but even I felt a lil dizzy looking down!

Beautiful yet frightning
Went there on a family vacation when I was young. It’s where I discovered I was terrified of heights in fact. Not exactly something one needs to discover when they are over 1000 feet in the air on a suspension bridge that feels like it’s swaying in the wind.
Really beautiful place though.
