Blomidon Provincial Park

I went hiking on the Jodrey Trail today with my son. It’s a great hiking trail with some steep sections, but it has an amazing view of the ocean with the Minas Basin as you ascend or descend beside the cliffs. I love it as it really feels like an accomplishment when I realize how high the park is.

One of the things that seem to happen whenever you live in a place for a while is that the amazing places close to you seem to fade into the background. Blomidon Provincial Park is close to where I live and I go to the beach fairly often and always take visitors there. What I didn’t do in over 5 years of living nearby was to go off of the beach and actually climb up the hill to the provincial park and hiking trails. It gave me a whole different perspective on the place.
