Bonifacio

Make sure that you see Bonifacio from the water. I came across on the ferry and it was magical seeing it appearing at the top of the cliffs.

Very touristic. Better to see in the morning. During the sunrise it’s just perfect!

A steep climb up to the Citadel which towers over the harbour below.
Wonderful narrow streets to wander along tall houses lining each side.
Some excellent restaurants with views down the streets serving good food and local wine.
Have a look for the escape passage on the seaboard side, a set of steps cut into the side of the sheer cliff lead down and round to a secret cove from where the defenders of the citadel could escape from if over run.
