Friedrichshain

Good restaurants, bars and clubs in this eastern neighbourhood. Seriously there’s so much going on here that on a few trips I haven’t ventured out to the wider city!

I moved from Sydney Australia to Berlin (via Amsterdam and Dresden!).

However I loved this place so much I bought an apartment here and I now call it home.

It is located in the former East Side of Berlin and boasts some really funky resteraunts and cafes. The people are expressive and down to earth and there is easy access to everywhere by public transport.

It is very close to Mitte and the nearby Simon-Dach strasse is a great place to hang out on Friday nights.

The bars are great in Friedrichshain. Astrobar was one of my faves.

For some reason, Friedrichshain is extremely over-hyped. If you’re planning to go to the (in)famous Simon-Dach-Strasse, just don’t. It is just a bunch of very bad Bars, closing before midnight. If you wanna have more fun, go to Berlin Kreuzberg or Berlin Mitte.
