Vacaville

don’t believe that everybody in Vacaville is Christian. If anything there are more Mormans, atheists, and wicca followers. It is quite boring though and I can’t wait to move out of here. It’s slowly becoming more of a retirement spot now with all the retirement homes and apartments going up… oh well.

definitely NOT worth visiting b/c there really is NOTHING to do there. HOWEVER, i did love living here. the cops do suck but they also do keep the town relatively safe compared to the surrounding towns, i.e. fairfield, vallejo..etc. i loved that vacaville was right in between sacramento and s.f. not too bad of a drive to get to either. we plan on moving back someday if plans for oregon don’t pan out.

I’ve lived here all my life and well I don’t really like it here and I’ll list the reasons why.

1. there is almost no culture, at one point there wasn’t even a real book store, they finally built a new one as of 06, there are 2 libraries, historic down town which is nothing more than buck st. which is lined with beautiful old brick buildings. with some nice little shops.

only one nice park which is located down town, but unfortunately its not safe as there have been several rapes there some of which happened in bored day light. One pitiful “museum” its not worth visiting believe me. one tiny pitiful art gallery. and one yearly festival.

2.almost no religious diversity, i.e. most everyone is christian.

3. the schools system sucks

4.the police department sucks

5. the hospitals suck

6. the town it self isn’t what you would call all that ascetically appealing, but not horrible either…

7. public transportation sucks, its always very late like 45 min or more, or that early. edit they’ve changed the bus system recently but I haven’t used it yet so I couldn’t tell you anything about it

8. shopping what shopping you have your choice from the outlet mall(blah),target,Melvyn’s, marshalls or walmart.

9. for the love of god there is nothing to do!

10. only one movie theater

11. there seems to be several homeless people at every parking lot.

12. only one ice skating rink

13. only one public pool

14 only two good parks one of them is ok but not nice, the other one is good but not safe.

15. If you happen not to be christian your really not going to want to move here! no one will admit it to your face but they hate “pagan” religions and try and force those people out of public events and event the community.

16. there’s a little gang problem.

17. Only 2 libraries

that’s my review…not bad but not good either…

its not the worst place you could live, the people are ok. But its just not my cup of tea

I live here in Vacaville. There isn’t much here. But if you like to stare at people with no hope of escaping, it’s worth visiting. Although we do have an ugly sign that says, “Welcome to Historic Downtown Vacaville”. What’s so historic about it, I’ve yet to discover. I mean, Sally Fox planted a walnut tree here back in pioneer days. And we use to have a place called the Nut Tree. But it was shut down when I was two, and recently was torn down. There are some walnut trees there, but most of them are diseased. Oh yea, and at night, the sign glows ultraviolet purple. Very ugly and tacky.
