Washington Dulles International Airport

I have flown all over the world- and I have never seen heavier security in any airport. Creepy.

When I was there this weekend, I noticed construction by the terminals. A sign said that trains were being built that would connect some of the terminals, ostensibly replacing at least some of the current trams, which are kind of cool but not as fast as the trains will be.

On my recent trip for business and a bit of pleasure I had to make a connection in Denver and then again in Dulles. It was my first time at Dulles. It was far from being the nicest airport that I have ever visited. Plus we were having issues with one of the gate personnel.

As far as flying into DC goes, Reagan National is a much nicer airport. It has cool gift shops with interesting things to look at and to buy. But the coolest part of Reagan National is that you get an unbelievable view of our nation’s capital city as you take off and land. You can even see the Washington Monument from the terminal building.

I was on my way to London, and it’s the only airport I’ll fly through. Because it has a smoking area!!

Our nation’s capitol has quite the neglected airport! Oh, well…

Upon arrival into Dulles the 1st time ever there was a HUGE storm which diverted us to Pennsylvania I believe. I was coming into Dulles to move to VA with my boyfriend at the time. He did not know I was coming that day. It was a surprise. I flew in & out of Dulles countless times that year.

A much-maligned necessary evil to the DC experience.

I’m by no means an expert in that field, but I like the architecture of that place.

I’ve gotten through security and that’s always fun because I never was able to.

The shuttles to go from the checkin to the terminals is great! They look so Star-Wars-y
