St. Michael's

My Grandmother lives in St. Michaels so I have spent many nights there. The museum is great although I always got in free so I can’t say whether or not its worth the price. As far as the touristy stuff goes, its ok and fun the first time but it gets a little old. However, there are a lot of fun non-touristy things. I would definitely suggest the C-Street bar which is the bar frequented by the locals.

I grew up in Easton (about 15 minutes away), so my view is a little skewed. I always saw St. Micheal’s as an overpriced tourist trap – and there are a lot of people who will be mad that I wrote that. However, that’s just the surface. One of advantages of being local is seeing the life and vibrancy of a place that lurks just beneath the patina of commercialism, and that’s the St. Micheal’s I think is worth visiting.

And now that I’ve said all that, I’ll completely cantradict myself and say that growing up I loved going on The Patriot.

We had a great visit to this quaint little town — a B&B tucked into a hide-away section of a historical part of town, and trips out on sailboats and fishing boats on the Bay each day . . . a little slice of Heaven!
