Guildhall

The Guildhall has been the seat of the governing body for the City of London Corporation since the 12th century. Some parts of the Guildhall complex are open to the public, but others, such as the great hall which gave the complex its name are only open to the public during London Open House weekend.

Even if you don’t go inside, it’s worth going into Guildhall Yard to have a look if you’re nearby. I never even knew that the buildings were there, so near all the glossy, glass-fronted offices on Gresham Street. The Guildhall complex including the Guildhall Art Gallery borders 3 sides of the square, with a church on the 4th side.
