The first time I went to this place  — 6 months ago

    Worth visiting!

Santa clara is the first place I saw on my first morning in the US. I had been on a official visit to Nvidia’s HQ here. I got to meet my friend Pushkar and his wife Smruti who stay nearby and their relatives Anjan and Smita and cute little Ayush. This was one of the best stays in my life. I got to go around to some cool park and hear Andy and Rebecca play on July 4th. Joe and Dilnaz took me to Santana Row and the Sajn Jose Greyhound bus depot. Hanging out at Rivermark plaza and celebrating in our room in Sierra suites was the high point of Santa clara stay.

    Not worth it!

I lived here when I was 5. All I remember was everyone obsessed with frog jumping contests. who knew?

I love it here!  — 2 years ago

I’ve only lived here for a little over a year now, but I love it!! Very convenient that there’s a mall within 5 minutes driving from where I live and Yumi Yogurt – delicious!! I go to the University – and love that too. :D Way better than Fremont (though Fremont’s naturally prettier with hills right by you), where I lived for 18 years…Fremont’s more boring.

Santa Clara still isn’t as cool as S.F. though, I’m afraid.

    Not worth it!

as I write this, there are 0 people who want to go to Santa Clara. I can fully understand that. This happens to be my favorite california story, and fully explains why I hated the place and couldn’t live there more than 6 months.

I lived less than 30 miles from work, but the trip was an hour every day. had to take the 101 from Palo Alto, and it’s possibly the worst traffic I’ve ever seen. One evening, the trip took more than 2 hours, tuned into the radio to hear what was going on and a tanker truck had overturned just north of San Jose, spilling XXX hundreds of gallons of stuff. Hazmat had been deployed to clean it up and the road was down to 1 lane (from it’s normal 4-5). The part that pissed me off.. the cargo was Milk. Hazmat was deployed to clean up spilled milk. Now being from Oklahoma, my first solution would have been to gather up the stray cats and homeless people and let them go nuts.

    My home...for now  — 3 years ago

    Worth visiting!

I’ve lived in the south bay for about 15 years now. Kinda makes it “home.” The south bay is a lovely place, however overcrowded and overpriced it may get ;)
