The University Of Akron

I graduated with a BS in Advertising – ended up getting a job in retail management. Nice school – I commuted, so I unfortunately didn’t get a lot of the “college experience”. After 20 years in retail – I ended up working in construction.

I don’t know if what I learned at Akron U. prepared me for life in the real world, the Career Center really didn’t do that well of a job (at the time).

I took a Statistics class here and liked the University Campus a lot. It’s very friendly. And the LGBTU group ROCKS!

I got my bachelors from there. When I first saw that rock candy statue, I thought someone had put blue plastic recycling bags all over it and I was wondering when they were going to take them off (I’m serious…) It’s ugly.

I graduated in 1999 with a degree in Computer Science. Ever since I left, they removed a lot of the streets and opened it up with green space. Nice to know that my tuition dollars are being used well. They improved their student union building and many of their science and engineering buildings. They have erected some new progressive art statues recently. It looks real nice!

Every year, they raise tuition to the maximum, and yet the professor’s union still goes without contract. They value brand new buildings and ugly statues that look like rock candy over academics.
