    Worth visiting!

Plane to taxi to hotel to sleep over. Morning to taxi to beautiful 45 min drive through the jungle to 1 km hike into our jungle beach home for the week.

The most fabulous sea life I have ever seen. Not the most fab sand though (see Turks and Caicos for that..)

An adventure  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

This was quite an adventure. We flew in to Ujung Pandang and spent a day or two there before getting the bus north towards Tanah Toraja. It was an adventurous bus ride as they often are in Indonesia. Serpentine roads, spectacular scenery and vomiting locals. A kid even vomited in my shoes. We spent a night in Pare-Pare and went to the movies there. The next day we hopped on a bus for the last bit to Rantepao in Tanah Toraja.

Tanah Toraja was well worth the efforts of the trip. Really spectacular scenery, the houses, the effigies of the dead, the wicked parties with the slaughtered buffalos and abundance of alcohol.

Went to Tana Toraja and Pulau Bunaken. Both were stunning and high points of my 4 week stay in Indonesia in 2005.
