DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, Lincoln, MA by Hensel310

Modern art museum and largest sculpture park in New England with over 80 sculptures situated on 35 acres of gorgeous lush, forested and hilly land which overlooks Flint’s Pond. (Flint’s Pond was Henry David Thoreau’s first choice but the town fathers of Lincoln would have none of his wacky experiment and tossed him off the property, sending him to the next pond in Concord….which is now known as… Walden’s Pond).

Some sculptors represented include Sol LeWitt, Jim Dine, Paul Matisse, George Rickey, Nam June Paik, Mark du Suvero, Ronald Gonzalez, Ilan Averbuch, and more.

Fantastic gift shop, perfect place for a picnic and great little cafe inside the museum. Well worth the drive to Lincoln which is about 20 minutes northwest of Boston.

A magical castle and sculpture garden by Dave Beckwith

One of the best getaways for studious Cantabrigians, one may even stumble, as I did, upon a free concert in the woods, featuring Chick Corea and Gary Burton.

All American sculptors should put this on their itenerary.

If you don't like art, something is wrong with you! by thepez

Decordova has a fantastic modern art collection, and the grounds are beautiful. Take a day trip from Boston and do this, the Gropius house, Walden, and Minute Man National park.
