Think cute beach town by h20bunni

This has got to be the most adorable beach town I’ve seen. I love the colors of the beach hotels sitting right on the beach! I’ve never stayed there since I live only an hour away but it looks like a fun place to stay for a few nights. It’s great when there is an art&wine festival going on. People bring their doggies and kiddies. Its so nice to walk around and have lunch there. Only thing I can complain about is the parking. It can be a pain but I’ve got a good bf that knows how to navigate and find parking rather quickly.

My mother’s grandparents bought a house in Capitola way back when, so it’s been in our family for a very long time. I’ve gone there 12 out of the 17 summers of my life. I don’t think I can really imagine what I would be like without this place. The memories are endless: Playing on the beach, flattening pennies on the train tracks and hoping no one would steal them, going to Gayle’s, dropping green tea ice cream from the Polar Bear on the ground by accident, eating breakfast at the end of the pier while the fog rolls over the town, sitting outside on the porch listening to the breeze or watching the sunset. If I could live there for the rest of my life, I would. I hope to retire in Capitola.

I love this place! by mstchrlady

I used to live in San Francisco and my boyfriend and I would make the hour and a half drive here every few months. It is such a quaint little village with all sorts of cute shops and boutiques. We enjoyed watching the surfers and dining in the restaurants with the gorgeous ocean views. And we liked that it’s not pretentious like so many other places in the area. I highly recommend it.

Go to Santa Cruz instead by grumpypixie

Unless you are white, have too much money, and like tourist destinations.

I’ve lived in both places.

If you are going to stay here I’d stay at the Inn at Depot Hill. It’s actually very nice and I worked there for a bit.
