Not worth visiting!
A review of this place
I put not worth visiting… that’s not entirely true. If you are in Colorado and bored with some friends, by all means go, but only to say “I’VE BEEN TO SOUTH PARK!!”. There is absolutely nothing there! You would think they would do something special, since there is a whole TV show dedicated to them, but me and my friends decided they aren’t too fond of the cartoon!!
I lived in CO for a year, and when some friends from IA visited me, we decided to go on over and try to find South Park, just to say we did. It was itty bitty, and the only thing noticable from the cartoon was a Mr. Hanky on the side of a building. I swear to God I saw Kenny’s house. And, of course, we got fun pictures in front of the “South Park School” and whatnot… and… a friend bought a T-Shirt that said “South Park” from a gas station down the road…
But once you get there.. there is pretty much nothing to see. It was pretty disappointing, but an experience nonetheless! :)

just to tell you friends “hey, i’ve been to the actual town of South Park!”
there’s nothing there. some stores, 1 school, city hall, few houses and trailers… just like as is shown in the cartoon.

High Plains Camping....
Had a great time near Fairplay and Como just dry camping and telling stories. Did some motorcycling in over the jeep trails and that was fun, riders of mixed abilities etc. Back to the RV and campfire in the evenings! Easy run up there from Denver.

yes, i’ve been there… it’s called Fairplay now, and the town is very small and quaint. there’s a pottery store that sells south park merchandise, and if you look down the main street, i swear it looks just like the cartoon! the old mining town was called South park, and you can tour the old buildings that are still there. definitely a fun place to go if you’re a fan of the show, or just want to see a small mountain town!
