I was so excited when I found this place: a gorgeous, colorful shop devoted solely to cupcakes!!! There were so many, and they were so beautiful, that I just couldn’t pick. And then I finally did pick one, paid for it, and bit into it… and it tasted liked cardboard. :-( cries I gave a bite to my friend to try, and he thought it was pretty awful too. It’s a wonderful concept and a beautiful looking store with beautiful looking cupcakes, but I’ll wait till those cupcakes are actually edible before going back. over 4 years agoUntitled by smoresluvrWho wouldn’t love a store solely committed to cupcakes? I went in there for 2 (or 4) and come out with a DOZEN (one of each), laughing my head off like the wicked witch of the west who just scored a pair of ruby red slippers. But to be honest, I got more excitement out of buying all of those cupcakes than actually eating them. I found a lot of the flavors to be much less intense than I would’ve liked. For all the fancy icing colors, I expected flavors, when most of the time, it was just food coloring. All in all, I know I can bake much tastier cupcakes, so I wasn’t super impressed, but the idea was great. Try the coconut one, it’s my favorite of all of them. Oh, and don’t buy 12 and expect 4 people to be able to eat them in 2 days. It won’t happen. over 4 years agoPretty darn good! by KimberlyI’m a baker, specifically cakes, so I can be very critical of food. While the cupcakes here certainly weren’t perfect, they are something I would go back for if I was going to be in town longer. A huge perk is the wide variety of flavors, so there is something for every palate. I loved the carmella and wasn’t a big fan of the lemon drop. But since everyone’s tastes are different there should be something to please! I liked the mini sized cupcakes, too. Great way to sample new flavors!! I saw a complaint about price in a previous post, but to me it seemed right in line with every other higher end bakery I know. Sure, you can get cheap cupcakes at the Safeway bakery— filled with artificial ingredients and preservatives, made by people barely paid more than minimum wage. I’d always prefer to pay a little more for quality ingredients! over 4 years agowho doesn't love cupcakes?! by jijibean218the decor sure puts anyone in a brighter mood – pink, pink, pink and more pink! the cupcakes were good; pretty with rich frosting and a decent number of varieties. they’re not phenomenal, though. in the back of your mind, you can’t help wondering if you wouldn’t be able to bake some yourself. i think it takes after magnolia and the buttercup bakeshop in new york. over 4 years agoSee all 20 entries |
