I sincerely hope that this is now history.
When I was there in October 2008 there were acres and acres of foundations – but only a single information sign. This informed the visiting world that it was a new type of sign – and that signs of this type would be placed to tell what was being seen – however in the meantime it had been necessary to take down the old signs as they were in a bad condition.
As a visiting Kiwi said, it’s difficult to believe they were very much worse than nothing!
