U Krále Brabantského

I drank mulled wine here. It seemed appropriate given the medieval atmosphere of the place and given how many strange, new things I had found to drink in Praha. Between the tiny, hard-wood staircases that look petrified from centuries of use, the narrow underlit passages, low doorways, and the basement and sub-basement that once were street level, there is a lot to be said for this place. They claim it is the oldest pub in Europe or Eastern Europe or …—well, I know “oldest” and “pub” and “Europe” all came in there somewhere, but don’t quote me on the facts. It could well be the oldest, most continuously operated pub in the history of the entire universe. It kind of has that atmosphere. Worth checking out.
