A review of this place: Fun, Geeky Time  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

I really enjoyed the museum. It was interesting and I learned a lot about the history of Science Fiction. There were many displays and props etc. from past movies and television shows. It was interesting to see old movie posters and robot replicas from the past 60 years. If you are not interested in Science Fiction, the museum will not change your mind. But if you have an interest or are a hard core science fiction geek, the musuem is a must see.

...and all I know is that to get there I passed under one of the spinners from Blade Runner hanging in the air. And that was all I needed to judge this place as being cool. I’m so obvious sometimes.

Cool stuff.  — 2 years ago

Things you can see: the hoverboard from Back to the Future, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, various Dune-related items, Star Wars stuff, tribbles from Star Trek, a cylon and daggit from Battlestar Galactica, etc. It’s expensive to get in, but if you’re into sci fi, it’s worth checking out.

I found the place to be quite cool, but then I was familiar with the vast majority of books and whatnot on display. It always surprises me how goofy movie costumes and props look in “real life”. There is not a whole lot of interactivity here, so be prepared to do a lot of reading and looking. This is probably not a place for people not really into science fiction; the various displays and exhibits did not seem interesting enough for the average person. My spouse seemed to find things amusing enough, but perhaps she was being polite.

I probably will not go back any time soon, but it was worth a visit.
