A review of this place: I was surprised how much this visit moved me.  — 3 months ago

Worth visiting!

I am, perhaps, a typical white man, who was oblivious to the race struggle of the mid 1960’s as I was young and not very wise.

It’s never too late to become more worldly, and to appreciate the struggle and the life work of Reverend King.

I went about twenty some years ago, and it was awesome; I got to go to the Center; got to see the grave and his birthplace right down on Auburn Avenue, and it was quite humbling to say the least. I want my children to see it too and plan to bring them one day.

Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

Wow! Martin Luther King Jr. and Ben Carson are like my two male non-celeberity favorite people lolz. I really enjoyed going to the memorial place and will never forget it. If you go to his church I warning you (it is the SAME church he went to so it is kind of old). I believe the church now has a new location although the old site is still intact and getting visitors.

in the bathroom. Not used to get shocked at museums like that time, though.

A review of this place: Paying my respect  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

You wouldnt help but respect the man and his legacy and what he stood for. I went to have a feel for what it meant to be MLK in the 60s. I was challenged ‘cos here was a man who died for what he believed.

When you visit the Center sure to take “the walk” with the wax figures, and look outside the window. It’s a view most people overlook.

He had a dream  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

Go and see the grave but also go to the visitor centre next to it to understand what this man who had a dream achieved and how he achieved it: the exceptional life of an exceptional person.

It was beautiful and touching to see where such a profound peacemaker was laid to rest. He was an extraordinary man and his legacy will live on to infinity!
