Itaewon

If you want to experience true Seoul, stay away from Itaewon. It has a reputation of being “Little America” and one trip there and you’ll see why.

This area is completely void of anything Korean.

I was on my way home after living in Korea for a third time.
Lots of shopping.

It’s very crowded with shops and places to eat. However my favorite place to eat is located here. Sorentinos for yummy Italian food! Alot of G.I’s during the weekend and things are overpriced because it’s close to the base.

was yesterday night, just hittin the old spots….but today i guess, im going to stop drinking..so problably no more itawon for a loooooooooong while. maybe to enjoy the restaurants like

Morrocco food : Armarkesh Nights

Thai: Budah’s Belly

Egyptian : Pharoh’s

Turkish (sort of) : Istanbul

Korean : Don Valley, Kalbi House

This district is spitting distance from Yongsan US Army Garrison, so there are lots of GIs stumbling about not to mention military police attempting to keep their asses in line. If you want to experience Seoul this is not the place to come. However, if you are craving Indian/French/Middle Eastern/Mexican (well kinda)/Thai/etc types of food than this is your place. But if you are only in Seoul for a short amount of time don’t bother.

Nice to mingle amongst the other foreigners sometimes, but as much fun as it was and can be, it doesn’t hold Korea’s true essence. I advise to have fun, but there is much more to see in Seoul and Korea!

there’s this lady who sells grilled stones calamari. it’s really nice and rubbery. just like eating gum. go find her and try it!

I suprisingly made it home almost every night, post-soju.

Just another shopping mall – if you don’t like shopping you won’t like it.

too many american GI! go home! haha, i kid i kid… its good for shopping, just very americanized
