Napier aka: Ahuriri

I visited this art-deco city on Oct, 2005. It´s a very pleasant city, with many beautiful gardens. It´s a lovely place.

Napier was a 3hour drive from were I use to live so I have been here ALOT, I would reccomend going on the Prison Tour at the old prison which is also a backpackers place

My husband and his family are from Napier, andwe go quite frequently to visit. We lived together before we were married in Napier before moving to Christchurch and then finally to Wellington.

picked apples for 3 months to make money tfor my air ticket home – fly home to South Africa.

The whole town was destroyed by an earthquake in 1931 and rebuilt in an Art Deco/Mission style. Lovely buildings!
