The Botanic Gardens

What excellent gardens and glass houses – the best I have visited anywhere.

I’ve been around the world and this Botanic Garden is one of the BEST. And it’s FREE. And it’s in Edinburgh. It’s great for an after-dinner stroll, or a mid-day picnic, or simply as a tourist attraction.

Now I want to go back and see the plants, dagnamit! LOL!

Having lived within spitting distance of Edinburgh my entire life, even before moving here, I was amazed to have never visited the botanic gardens. Finally made the trip last year, with a willing friend. Unfortunately we’d picked the tail end of the growing season, so there were surprisingly few plants to see – bit of a let down, really.

Largely, though, we’d gone to see the Earth From the Air exhibit, which was on display there at the time. And it was amazing! Maybe this year I’ll go back to see some growing things instead of picture!
