Why I recommend this place to visitors
This place is packed with historical sites.
You can spend hours wandering around many enjoyable sites.
I was able to live here for about two months.
I wish I could land a teaching job in this town.

Worth visiting!
The most tranquil place I have been.
Everywhere I looked it was green and beautiful. I went to many of the major land marks and each one I was captivated by beauty of the land and the exquisit sites. It is a tad expensive… so bring all the cash you can.

Get mobbed by 4th graders practicing English...
Lots of Korean school children seem to come here on field trips, or so my family found. They also are really enthusiastic about practicing their English on anyone who appears western. The one downside for some Americans might be that it can be hard, sometimes, to find tours of the sites in English. My parents and I just went on a Korean one, since we mostly wanted bus transportation to the places, but we lucked out in running into a man who had gone to an American School in Taiwan when he was younger, who translated everything for us. Like everywhere in Korea in the fall, it was absolutely beautiful.

The old Seoul
The history of Shilla is all here. Great food, and lush lands. I wish I could revisit with a real history buff!
