Great Hall

The only remaining part of Winchester Palace, dating from the 13th century. There is a lovely little garden out the back, which has plants, herbs and features that would have existed in a medieval garden.

I spent ages looking at the many beautiful stained glass windows, made up of the coats of arms of monarchs and nobles. And of course, the wonderful and HUGE 14th century replica of King Arthur’s Round Table, inscribed with the names of his knights.
