National Cowboy Poetry Gathering

The National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada is held each year at the end of January. The next date in 2006 is January 28 ‑ February 4. The gathering is held to honor the traditional poetry, music and art of the American West.

I’ve heard about the show for years and always wanted to go. I have a few books of cowboy poetry and bought an audio tape of poets reading their works last year when I drove through Elko.

I hope to attend this next show in January.
