Vaison-la-Romaine

I have heard about this place since I was in high school French and have been dying to go ever since. One day—one day :)

my family is going there every three years for a special event called the “choralies”, where the whole town suddenly starts singing, with the participants coming from all over the world to double up the usual population.

the town combines a medieval part (up on the hill, with a castle on top) and quite a lot of roman ruins (due to its southish location). add to all this a beautiful river, lots ans lots of cicadas and sunshine pretty much year-round.. it’s paradisiac.
