How this place changed my life
I grew up here!
It is a completely different place now than it was then, and even then it was a completely different place than it used to be.
A perfect example of a tourist town, catering to people that visit and neglecting the people that live there.

Used to live here in 1977
We lived above the old Ben Franklin variety store on Main St. which has since burned down. My son was born here in ‘76, we used to have family here. My parents built a home on Big Mt. in 1975. Loved eating the huckleberries!

I spent a couple or three years living in this lovely little town nestled up next to the mountains. Come for the skiing and stay for the hospitality.

Great Relaxing Place
Spend a couple of days here and I loved the slow pace of life. Reminded me a little bit of home in New Zealand.

Introduction to Whitefish

Whitefish has boomed as a resort community, attracting people from all over the country and making it Montana's fastest growing area. Long-time residents have feared it will become another Aspen or Jackson Hole, but that hasn't quite happened yet. In fact, Whitefish is still relatively sedate. Whitefish is almost two different towns -- the town itself and the Big Mountain ski area. The busy season in town is the summer, and room rates are correspondingly higher there during warm weather. This may seem odd for a ski town, but Glacier National Park attracts about two million visitors a year, while the ski area brings in only about 300,000.
