Curious to see what I can discover there. I do confess the images in those miniature Wallpaper books intrigue me. What’s in like in May?

Is there an inexpensive but fun personal kind of hotel where one can stay in the city?

I saw kayaking going on around Stockholm. This looks amazing! Where can one do that?

The big metal slide by Benny2Ts

My dad is from Sweden, and one summer we visited various old relatives and friends on the Stockholm Archipelago. My memories are hazy (I’ll have to get my dad to recap the story in laborious detail to me again), but there was this one chap (who may or may not have been the same person who rebuilt his hips with muscle!) who’d bulit an enormous slide into the sea from his house above. You had to go down it on a cart!

More on this some other time…

stockholm archipelago by polaus

gotta come back here sometime. here i spent summers cruising around with my parents and the 2 relentlessly annoying older sisters. roughly 10 000 islands in sizes ranging from a dinner plate to, eum.. 50 acres. bay dock, dingy in to shore, have a party at the fire, dingy back to sleep at the sound of pretty little waves go clock.. cluck.. clock.. cluck zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Not as big as in Finland, but Stockholm’s archipelago is as pretty! One of my favorite routes is through the Satlsjobaden channel near Stockholm.

Mainly just passed through on a ship to Helsinki, but so. many. islands! All looking so very charming. Clearly, with more free time, I need to actually visit some of those islands, rather than just leave them in a large wake.
