Lower Manhattan, i.e. south of Houston, there are limited 24 hour restaurants that don’t involve pizza or grocery shopping, Charlie’s Chicken south of the World Trade Center, Remedy Diner and Bereket in the LES and the 69 Bayard Chinese Restaurant.
69 is good. Pretty cheap and the staff is attentive. It’s the closest late night option to me so I head there when I don’t want a slice of pizza after 3am. Before 3am I would prefer South’s in Tribeca, Paris Cafe in the South Street Seaport or something along Stone Street, like Ulysses’ Folk House or Stone Street Tavern.
