A Great Place to to for the Fourth of July
It’s a nice big park in the middle of the town where I live. It was built on a site that was originally a housing project for troops and government workers during World War II. After the war the houses were removed and the land was made into a park.
When our children were very young we would bring them here to play on the swings, slide on the slides, and feed the ducks in the pond.
Now we make at least one trip to the park each year, on the Fourth of July. There is a parade through the park, followed by entertainment, games, and food throughout the day. In the evening there are fireworks.
It’s not the grandest Fourth of July celebration in the nation, I am sure. But it is a lot of fun for our family and has been an ongoing tradition with us for many, many years.
