Not kidding by Jørgen J. Jenssen
Actually, Mirkwood exists. In norwegian, “Mørkved” (means dark jotun forest)It is the ancient name of the great forests on the border of Finland-Russia. Tolkien deridved the exact name from Norse folklore and 13th century AD Icelandic sagas. Check it out if you don’t believe me, i’ve read the sagas myself. So, now you know if you wanna go there :P There’s friendly finnish/russian people there, vodka, nude saunas, ice bathing and rally championships occationally…
Not many woodelves, there but you might find pretty beople with big eyes there anyway, and plenty of mystique and folklore of course…
