The first time I went to this place  — 3 weeks ago

    Worth visiting!

..was years ago, probably before the Space Shuttle. The tour was very impressive. It was awe inspiring to see the huge building, and the rockets, and the launch pads of the first rockets. The second time..I remember the new inside tour, but nothing else. It is a place of real History of incredible accomplishments.

We visited Saturyday, with tickets to watch the STS-124 launch of Discovery. Something like the disney of space, with plenty of video and animatronics to watch. Definitely worth it, at least once.

We spent an educational and entertaining early afternoon at the Kennedy Space Center in July, and it really wasn’t that crowded. And it’s so close to the beach!

    I Love It  — 8 months ago

    Worth visiting!

I’ve been over twice. Once I drove over to Cape Canaveral (not the Park) to watch a shuttle launch and then I went to the Park the 2nd time. It was great. I loved the IMAX theater, there was a shuttle on one of the two launch pads plus seeing everything and hearing about the space program.
I love it. It’s my Disney World without any mice. I had planned to go this past weekend (Oct 20th) for a shuttle launch but it got moved so I didn’t make the trip.
One of these days I’ll go for a launch where I am at Kennedy Space Center.
The food is expensive but I have to admit the whole experience was great.

Been there many times and loved every visit. Last time I was there I was fortunate to watch a space shuttle launch on the beach. The ground shook and all I could see was this fireball rising into the clouds. It was amazing!

Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

If you have any interest in space exploration, then you’ve got to visit Kennedy Space Center. It’s not far from Orlando, so if you’re there, you can take a day and drive over to check it out.

A tip I have about this place  — 1 year ago

If you go on the bus trip around, you can probably safely skip the ‘intro’ movies unless you know absolutely nothing about the history of space travel.

Not a great deal to do although definitely worth a visit, just because they send people into space here. Mad.

I was here in April of either 1974 or 1975. My school friend Steve Maltby and his parents took me to Vero Beach, Florida in two successive years.

[i speak only of the visitor complex… i’ve never been down to the KSC for a launch. :( ]
Kind of torn about this place.
i’m absolutely batty about NASA and the space program in general, so visiting here was a must.
But, there isn’t all that much to do here. They have fantastic IMAX videos, and an art gallery [i think it’s in the same building as the IMAX] which you can spend a good hour or so walking through [even has some Andy Warhol pieces!], the space shuttle graveyard, a few displays here and there… and that’s it. i really don’t know what else they could do with the place, but the admission fee just doesn’t make much sense [$30+? Wasn’t it? Just for general admission..]
Anyway, i do recommend this place for a day full of learning fun, but it would probably be even better to bring someone of a younger generation with you, they’d probably get more out of it. :D And don’t forget your moneys… especially if you plan on getting food there or buying souvenirs. [BTW, their giftshop plays the Star Wars soundtrack every now and then. xD i found that amusing]

    Questions about this place

    Coral Springs
jaosehl asks, “There's a rocket launch scheduled tomorrow night. Apparently KSC is closed to the public in the evening, so where is the best place to watch from? Is there a clear view from Titusville?”
