Fiesole

A beautiful little town just 20 minutes up the hill from Florence. There are some steep hiking trails. Check out JJ Hill’s pub or visit La Reggia for some delicious pasta. :-) I lived here for three months in Hotel Villa Bonelli – the people are great!

Take the bus #7 to the end of the line in Fiesole for a wonderful view of Florence. The roman ampitheater is nice too. This is more for the person who has weeks or months to spend in Florence.

If you are in Florence and want a nice day trip from the city core take the bus north into the mountains to Fiesole where you can see some examples of all three at the outdoor site and attached museum.
