Centralia

I’m a huge fan of the Silent Hill video games and the town was originally modeled after Centralia. So I would love to visit to see the inspiration behind the movie and the video games!

For my 22nd birthday I asked my boyfriend at the time to come up there with me. We brought a picnic. it was a little difficult to find. It was especially odd that I passed the town that my father grew up in. he actually mined some of those hills. Anyway, a pretty neat place. I was hoping it would be spookier, but really it just feels forgotten and abandoned. An interesting experience. I am glad I went.

it was a couple years ago. yes, the town is missing. yes, there isn’t too much to see.

BUT THERE IS AN UNDERGROUND COAL FIRE THAT WILL BURN FOREVER!

(don’t fall in near the cemetery)

I live about 30 minuets from Centrailia and go thier frequently to observe the changes made by the fire and tell people about the fire. Sort of a hobby of mine(ha ha get it a mine) lol. Anywho if yo have any Q’s just give me a shout

I was driving through PA for work and stumbled upon Centralia. It’s very sad what has happened to this town.
