Wanna get away?
Experience the magic of the true west along highway 50 in Nevada. Austin is a great place to stop for lunch. There’s an amazing antique/jewelry store there. Make sure to pause at Cold Station, an oasis with nothing around for 50 miles either way. The barkeeps there are great for a word or two. Lastly, don’t miss the shoe tree.

Of course I have been here, hasn’t everyone? (grin) Be sure to stop in Middlegate and ask for direction to the Shoe Tree…

I'd challenge the title though
As much as I enjoyed riding my motorcycle on Highway 50 I’d have to challenge the claim of it being “The loneliest road in America”.
I really enjoyed riding past the sand mountain outside of Fallon, NV. It really looked out of place.
I think I rode that last summer. Highway 140 from Winnemucca, Nevada to Lakeview, Oregon, 180 miles of little but desert beauty. If you don't stop for gas in Adel they may find your bones during a cattle drive, maybe not?
