Lake Hartwell

You don’t need a boat to enjoy the lake. There are plenty of lakeshore places to chill, plus the entire lake is open for swimming. But if you’re afraid of getting run over by a boat, there are protected swimming areas at Hart State Park (on the Georgia side) and Fair Play (SC).

I just went up a few days ago and the water was really calm. Hardly noone was there because it’s winter-time but there was one boat out on the lake around 5 pm or so.
It’s just a nice place to relax and read..it’s big enough that there can be alot of people there and it still feels deserted.

I grew up here, so I had to add it to the map. It is a beautiful little lakeside town in NE Georgia. Great place for a weekend lake home… waterskiing and golf.
