Worth visiting!
A review of this place: Entertaining
On this particular Sunday I had to meet up for a family in Olympia and figured that I’d bike most of the way there to Tacoma and stop over here on the way. The ride was fantastic with perfect weather. I got over to this church which is situated right next to something like 5 other churches all along 312th St.
The church was in pretty good shape and especially in the sanctuary where they had all the typical modern equipment and even a video projector for the worship team to read off of.
I got there way ahead of time and could see the end of the first service which was traditional. There weren’t many people in that service, but in the next one there were probably 4 times as many and got up to maybe 70% pew capacity. There were people of all ages in the second service with a lot of families with kids, etc. The message was really good and simple. It was Phillipians 2:14-18 where Paul says to not complain or argue about anything. I enjoyed how the Pastor really made a point of it. The service also had communion which was served with what I believe was real wine. Now it probably wasn’t the wine, but the leader of the worship team had the most energy I had ever seen out of anybody at 9:30am on a Sunday morning. He was really into it and telling us to put our hands in the air (3 other people did this, maybe). And to top it all of this one guy proposed to his girlfriend at the end of the service.
The church also had a bunch of extracurricals and get-togethers including what appeared to be a rock concert with music from 5 of the other churches all right next to each other on 312th. They also talked about a recent mission they had over to Mississippi.
Overall, I thought this was a pretty good church. The people were all really friendly, the service was good, and the roads were nice and smooth as I sped away at 25mph on my bike.
