Footy and cricket

Where football dreams are won and lost! Sitting in the rain, or the blazing sun. Watching you team fight it out…or not.
Beer and a pie is the outer – there’s nothing like it!
The roar, the electricity….

For cricket season it has a different atmosphere – nearly everyone is on the same side! Sunscreen, beer, and icecream, and not a care in the world except for that little red ball out in the middle.

Why I want to go to this place

I’ve been to Melbourne twice and not had the experience of the MCG. I’d even go when it was empty! But what I’d really love to experience is an AFL match there…or a cricket match. Either would be ideal.

WOW

I’d heard about this place growing up, and after visiting it I can see why.

I went there on two occasions. One on the tour (HIGHLY recommended if youre a cricket fan) which was quite interesting, and the second time to watch Aussie Rules.

On the tour, they took us through all sorts of areas of the stadium including the teams rooms and the members stand.

We also got a look through the Australian Olympic Museum which was fairly ok to look at too. Would be better if you were an Aussie and could appreciate what you were seeing more.

I cant remember how much it cost, but for the 2 hour tour it was well under $20AU and well worth it.

Amazing (if you love cricket)

Really really enjoyed my visit to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). We got there early and got great seats to watch Australia vs Pakistan. We are normally South Africa supporters but decided, for that day to support Australia. Great structure and typical of the way Australians do everything just so so well.
