Yelapa

Most everything I have read about Yelapa was accurate. It is for some people and not others, after begging my girlfriend to spend a few nights in Yelapa I was overuled by the “its too rustic, not looking to camp” response. We stayed in Nueva Vallarta and after the resort boredom set in I was able to talk her into a day trip on the good ship booze cruise. 10 minutes on the beach in Yelapa under a palapa she immediately realized the error she had made and we will be returning in Feb. for a longer stay… much longer…

If you insist on visiting this irrelevant hippie backwater, keep your risk to a minimum: take the booze cruise from the PV marina, arrive in Yelapa an hour or so later, stride briskly ashore, eat a piece of pie at one of the beachfront restaurants, wander briefly along the shoreline, then catch the next boat back to civilization – Yelapa is sort of scenic, but boring.
