Wollman Rink

I’ve wanted to go there so much for ages! I would LOVE the chance to ice-skate outdoors. Not something very common in Australia! My Dad went in December 08 and said it was amazing – like the rest of New York.

Along with 2 of my sisters and 2 nieces (ages just turned 6 & 7.5) I took the train into NYC where we walked from Grand Central to Rockefeller Center to see the tree and the windows ar Saks. Then we proceeded to the Park where we rented skates and glided around for an hour at Wollman Rink.

Once I stopped clinging to the sides and found my sea legs (or rink legs) it was very enjoyable. The day was gorgeous and the city over the trees is a wonderful backdrop. My nieces were thrilled. It was a great day and will be an excellent memory for years to come.

I fell many times, but, in the end, learned how to ice skate.
