Hell

meh. its on my top ten lists. i have a few questions for the people down there. i just want the choice to be able to leave again. im a tourist not a settler.

it was overrated in my mind but worth visiting. it was something that i had to do in michigan before i moved away

I was there on 6/6/06. It is a cool place to visit with a bunch of friends if you have a specific reason to be there, like Halloween or to see the freeze or whatever, just to say you’ve been there. Otherwise, not much going on except two shops and a bar. Oh, and there is a really pretty river that goes through Hell too.

I was one of the lucky people who spent June 6, 2006 in Hell, Michigan…yes, I was in Hell on 666! I even have the t-shirt to prove it. We ended up in the Reuters news/photos too. It was a blast. The best times to go are on Halloween, or something like that. It’s basically a tiny place, but if there is an event like Halloween or (a LONG time from now…lol) a “666” party, you can’t find anywhere better to go!

It’s worth visiting just so you can say that you have in fact been to Hell.

I went swimming in Hell Creek once with my summer campers. After a few hours swimming to and fro, I got out for lunch and was horrified to find my suit covered in tiny green inchworms. Blech.

I’ve been here twice. My high school teacher lives around here; a group of us in his homeroom had an adventure on his pontoon boat.
If you can’t make it here, that doesn’t mean you can’t get a Hell postmark on your mail. What you do is mail a package to the postmaster of Hell, enclosing the letters (stamped properly of course with postage), and requesting that they remail it with a postmark. Lots of places will do this for you.

So hell’s “downtown district” actually had three shops: The grocery store (uptown hell), an ice cream parlor (midtown hell) and a biker bar (downtown hell.). The funny thing is that the guy working in the ice cream parlor (which is totally overdone and wonderful) owned all three shops…. so that makes him… Satan?

Hell was great. The only bad part was the outhouse that had an alligator in it (or so the store owner said..)...

I would reccomend stopping by for some ice cream to anyone!

i have a vague memory of eating pizza in a huge hallway, a real, heavenly pipe organ delivering sound to the minions stuffing face and gobber with below-average (and below-ground) Italian-style pies and oversized soft drinks… pretty good memory as far as memories of hell go. and the pizza joint was real. (unless it was in okemos, michigan… i wasnt very old when i first went to hell)...

and nowhere near any freeways, but one of these days I’ll check it out.
