Maymont

As a florists who has studied in Horticulture, I strongly recomend visting Maymont. The gardens are excellent and mostly period acurate. No matter what time of the year, there is usually some plant in its full splendor to be seen. Such beautiful gardens are rare in cities, Maymont is perfect,a great place for artist, gardeners, and people who just want to get away. Plus , kids LOVE the animals, and the Japanese garden is fun for kids too.

Looking for somewhere to retreat to with a blanket or a picnic lunch? Throw out the blanket under one of the numerous cool trees, stare up in the sky with your favorite cloud-gazing partner and forget about everything else going on in your day…

A great place to unwind. Animals, both farm and indigenous wild, can be found here. Lots of land to stretch your legs—don’t forget to visit the gardens near the backside, a definite must see!
