was on a school trip. I remember being disappointed that there were too many of us in the Whispering Gallery to test out the acoustics.

The gardens to the side are a lovely place to sit at lunchtime, away from all the nearby bustling roads.

You can get a great view of it from the Millennium Bridge (or, as we call it, the Wobbly Bridge – even though they fixed the wobble). It always reminds of that iconic photo of the London skyline during the Blitz, with the dome of St. Paul’s rising from the smoke.

I sang here with some people from my high school choir. AMAZING acoustics for choral music.

Walked in just as they had a choir playing. It totally gave me goosebumps. I love this cathedral!

    Wren's epitaph  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

Wren’s epitaph in the Cathedral is concise but powerful. “Si monumentum requiris circumspice” – “if you seek my monument, look around”.

...it was december, 1973…London is and always has been my favorite walking city. anyway, I spent New Years in London, and at the stroke of midnight I jumped into the fountain at Trafalgar Square…and was promptly pulled out by a Bobby who fined me…but not before draping a blanket over me.

If you don’t want to climb the stairs and you don’t want to pay 9 pounds to get in, you can attend Evensong FOR FREE. Evensong is held every day at 5pm and you get to hear the choir singing in the magnificent cathedral.
