Lake Powell

This is a place to get away from it all. Lots of boating skills help make the trip more enjoyable. It is worth the trip.

I went here with my girlfriend and three other friends from college at the end of August 2006. This was a perfect time to go, not too many people there so it was really peaceful. I have never seen as many stars in my life. Go there.

I’ve done Mexico and as a college student I think Lake Powell is also a necessary destination!

Unlike any other place I’ve been to. If you are going to rent a boat get one at least 25 ft long. The waves can beat you down in a small boat.

I spent a fantastic week here with some friends. We tootled around on a houseboat but I was constantly wishing we had kayaks for exploring some of the narrower slot canyons. It’s just a shame that so many beautiful caverns were sumberged following the construction of the dam. I was disappointed that we were too late to see Cathedral in the Desert before the water level rose again. But maybe next time it will be accessible again.
If you ever get the chance go go go! And bring kayaks too. :)

This is one of the most beautiful places on Earth-make sure that you go to the Antelope Canyon area to go cliff-jumping and hiking…

Lake Powell is an oasis in the desert. The canyons are amazing and the water is beautiful and warm. Sunsets were the best, where the huge desert sky was lit with vibrant colors that reflected off the canyon walls.

I got engaged on the lake, so this spot will always be a very special one for us and I hope we can return and explore more of the area someday.

If you go there, take a jetski through some of the winding canyons. This place is too beautiful too miss.
